Mangaluru, Feb 03, 2023: The 47th Indian Coast Guard’s Raising Day event at Indian Coast Guard headquarters here on February 2, Thursday. State Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot was the chief guest on the occasion.

In his address, the Governor highlighted the role played by the Indian Coast Guard in the protection, relief and rescue activities along the 7,500 kms of the nation’s coastline.

He also spoke on the significance of maritime trade and transport for the global economy and its contribution to economic growth.

The event was attended by the Commander of the Karnataka Coast Guard Praveen Kumar Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada M R Ravikumar and other dignitaries.
