Udupi, Aug 02, 2023: Karkala police have arrested five Sangh Parivar activists on the charges of resorting to immoral policing by intercepting a car in which a few doctors and professors were travelling. The incident which took place on Sunday has come to light of late.

The arrested persons are Santosh Nandalike, Karthik Poojary, Sunil Moolya Miyyaru, Sandeep Poojary and Sujith Sapaliga.

On July 29, four doctors of a college in Mangaluru and two lady professors of the same college were travelling in a car when their vehicle was followed at Kuntalpady in Karkala by the accused who intercepted the car and threatened and abused them.

The professors in the car immediately called the police control room. The Karkala Police including DySP Aravinda Kallagujje, Circle Inspector Nagaraj and ASI Sandeep Shetty who rushed to the spot took the accused to custody.

Karkala Rural Police have registered a case.
