Mangaluru, Aug 31, 2023: A labourer died and another person sustained serious injuries when a compound wall collapsed over them during side drain works at Krishnapura in Suratkal on August 30, Wednesday.

The deceased is Haneef of Bajpe Karambaru. A person named Mani was injured. Sharief of Krishnapura had secured contract for undertaking side drain works and was getting the work done when the compound wall collapsed all of a sudden on the labourers.

Haneef had died by the time he was lifted from under the debris. Mani has been admitted to a private hospital in Mukka.

Suratkal police are investigating the case.
