Mangaluru, Sep 02, 2023: An awareness drive was conducted for bus conductors and drivers on ensuring passengers safety. The drive was launched under the leadership of DK Bus Operators Association President Azeez Parthippady.

Association General Secretary Ramachandra Pilar and others were present.

The drive was conducted after a recent incident wherein a conductor of a city bus died after he fell off the bus at Nantoor junction.

The bus operators who visited various places in the city, urged the bus crew to be courteous to passengers and also to ensure that no one travelled on footboards. Buses were also directed not to stop at any other place except bus stops.

It may be recalled here that City Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain has already asked bus operators to fix doors to buses in the wake of the recent mishap.
