Mangaluru, Oct 30, 2022: Dr. M. Annayya Kulal Ulthur, a medical officer of repute is known for his distinguished contribution in the field of community based health promotion.
A Palliative Medicine Medical Officer at District Wenlock Hospital and Chief Covid-19 Medical Nodal Officer under the National Rural Health Mission, Dr Annayya Kulal is known for his great dedication and commitment towards his profession.
A recipient of the prestigious D Devaraj Urs State level Award given by the Karnataka Government, Dr Annayya has also served as Professor and administrator of Srinivas Medical College Hospital. Among the several awards conferred on him include the B C Roy Award, Aryabhata State Award, Grants International Award, District Rajyotsava Award, Sadhana Ratna Award, Swasti Siri State Award and IMA National President’s Appreciation Award.
Dr M Annayya Kulal served as co-convener of BJP’s state teachers wing and the member of health wing as well. He is also instrumental in forming IMA Writers’ Forum and organising the first ever state conference of physician writers in Mangaluru.
Dr Annayya who has won the Devaraj Urs Award had incidentally stayed in the Devaraj Urs Hostel for as long as 16 years while pursuing education and also has a trust with the objective of serving the causes of the poor.
