Mangaluru, Aug 08, 2023: As lab tests have confirmed that there are traces of ganja in the chocolates seized from two shops in the city by the police, a case has been booked under the NDPS Act against the two shopkeepers.

It may be recalled here that chocolates were seized from a shop at Carstreet and another at Falnir. While one Manohar Shet was arrested from his shop at Pooja Palace Building, Carstreet with 3000 packets of so called bhang chocolates.  The accused also had 592 loose bhang chocolates, all worth Rs 12,592. In the other case, police arrested Bechan Sonkar from a petty shop near Highlands and seized drugs laced chocolates worth Rs 5,500.

The accused are presently in judicial custody.
