Karkala, Aug 02, 2023: A labourer has lost his life due to severe injuries in an explosion at a stone black stone quarry at Nitte Gundyadka of Karkala. The deceased is Venkatesh (32) of Bagalkote.

The mishap took place when rocks were being blasted at the quarry. Venkatesh who got severely injured had collapsed at the spot. Though he was rushed to the KMC Hospital in Manipal, his life could not be saved.
