Kasargod, July 05, 2023: A protest organised by the Kasargod District Congress Committee to condemn the “revenge politics” by the state government by filing “false cases” against Kerala Congress Chief K Sudhakeran and Opposition leader V D Satishan, turned violent on July 4, Tuesday. Police resorted to a lathi charge and District Congress Chief P K Faisal and many others were injured. Police also used water canons to disperse the crowd.

The procession was heading toward the SP office from the District Congress Office. The police prevented the protestors near the SP office by putting up barricades. However the protestors tried to break the barricades and proceed when the police lath charged them.

Two police personnel were also injured in stone pelting.
