Mangaluru, Dec 30, 2022: In a gaffe of sorts, which has becoming a talking point in the city, the traffic police have sent a notice to a car driver stating that the pillion rider was not wearing helmet and asked him to pay a fine of Rs 500.

The notice was issued for a traffic violation reported on November 29 in Mangaladevi. The notice reached the driver on December 22. In fact instead of writing bike, the notice has mentioned car and then the violation is mentioned as pillion rider not wearing helmet.

The notice also has the picture of the place of violation and a bike with a helmetless pillion rider can be seen. A car is also seen ahead of the two-wheeler.

The automation centre of the traffic police might have inadvertently sent the notice to the address of the car driver instead of the two-wheeler rider.
