Mangaluru, April 19, 2023: Former MLA J R Lobo, who is the Congress candidate from the prestigious Mangaluru South constituency will file his nomination on April 20, Thursday.

J R Lobo and several Congress leaders and party workers will take out a huge procession from near Kudroli Temple on April 20 before Lobo files his nomination.

JR Lobo had entered the State Legislative Assembly for the first time in the year 2013 by defeating the then four-time MLA N Yogish Bhat by a margin of 12,275 votes. He however lost to D Vedavyas Kamath of the BJP in the 2018 elections by a margin of 16,075 votes.

A former KAS Officer, J R Lobo’s full name is John Richard Lobo. He has served as Tahsildar, Assistant Commissioner, MCC Commissioner, KUDCEMP Joint Project Director and as Headquarters Assistant of the DC. After 35 years of service he had opted for voluntary retirement and had plunged into politics.
