Mangaluru, June 19, 2023: The newly elected Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, U T Khader was conferred a Civic Reception at the Town Hall in the city on June 19, Monday on behalf of the Tulu Parishat.

Former chief minister M Veerappa Moily was the chief guest on the occasion.  In his address he suggested formation of an Ethics Committee comprising members of both the houses for the effective functioning of the Legislature.

Prof Jayaraj Amin, in-charge Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University presided over the function. Mangaluru Bishop Rev Dr Peter Paul D’Souza, SCDCC Bank Chairman M N Rajendra Kumar, Sridevi Educational Institutions President Sadananda Shetty, MLC Harish Kumar, City Bus Operators Association President Jayasheela Adyanthaya, Tulu Parishat Honorary President Dr Prabhaker Neermarga, Parishat President Taranath Gatti Kapikad and others were present.
