Belthangady, Aug 09, 2023: The death of a one and a half month old baby at the Belthangady Government Hospital, has led to anguish among family members who have alleged medical negligence as the cause of the death. The family members of the child have accused the staff of the hospital of negligence during the absence of doctors.

Balakrishna and Savitha couple of Mulikar in Dharmasthala had admitted their baby girl to the hospital as she had phlegm related problem. It has been alleged that the baby died after the nurse gave some injection when the doctor was not in the hospital.

Former MLA Vasanth Bangera visited the hospital and took the staff to task and suggested the child’s parents to lodge a complaint.
