Mangaluru, Nov 26, 2022: In a case of moral policing reported from Nantur in the city on November 25, Friday evening, a student was pulled out of a private bus and thrashed by a group of Hindu activists for the reason that he was sitting along with a girl of another community. The private bus was on way to Mangaluru from Karkala-Nitte.

The youth who was subjected to assault is Sayyed Rasheem Umar (20). Rasheem is a student of a private college in Karkala and was travelling along with the girl who was his classmate when the incident took place. The Traffic police who rushed to the spot, rescued the youth.

The youth in his complaint with Kadri police has alleged that the accused have even threatened him.
