Udupi, Sep 05, 2023: Ravi Katapady of Udupi who is known for donning attractive and unique costumes during every Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, for the noble cause of raising funds to extend financial aid to children who are in need of funds for medical treatment, has said he would be donning a special costume this time to aid the treatment of a two year old child from Kundapur suffering from heart ailment.

This year, his special costume will be that of Sea Folk character of an English movie.

Speaking to reporters, he said he would not seek funds from anyone but would accept funds from anyone who contributes on their own knowing his good intentions. Those who wish to contribute can approach the Ravi Friends Katapady vehicle, he said.

He said he was pained as some people of his own village have been accusing him of constructing house using the funds he has raised during Ashtami celebrations. He said during the past eight years he has collected Rs 1.13 crores which he said has been provided as financial aid to 113 children suffering from various  health issues.

This is the ninth consecutive year of Ravi Katapady donning special costumes.
