Mangaluru, July 29, 2023: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has asked public to remove the names of their deceased family members from the ration cards.

The DC office has issued a circular in this regard after it came to light that the names of13,133 deceased people still remain in ration cards.

The names should be immediately removed by producing the death certificates of the deceased persons, the DC has said.

The circular stated that it was an offence to continue having the names of deceased persons in ration cards and if such instances come to light then the beneficiaries will be ineligible.
