
Mangaluru, Nov 22, 2022: City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar has informed that Mohammad Shariq, the terror suspect arrested in connection with the cooker bomb blast case in an autorickshaw at Nagori in the city last Saturday, will be taken into custody as soon as he recovers.
Speaking to reporters, the Commissioner said both Shariq as well as the autorickshaw driver Purushottam are being treated at the hospital. Purushottam’s condition is stable and is responding to treatment, the Commissioner said.
He further added that the accused Shariq was not in a position to speak at the moment and doctors have not said anything specific regarding his health condition. He will be taken into custody once he is able to answer the questions, the Commissioner said.
He said efforts are being made to secure compensation to the injured autorickshaw driver. The Tahsildar has already collected necessary information and the Deputy Commissioner will take a final decision after consulting the government.
