Mangaluru: The Rubik’s Mosaic or the art form using Rubik cubes, created by nine year old Shresht Prabhu speak volumes about the talent of the little boy. Be it that of Goddess Sharada which he had prepared during Dasara or that of matinee idol Rajkumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former president S Radhakrishnan and industrialist Ratan Tata, each of these Rubik portraits, reflect the immense efforts of Shresht in adding a shining touch to the art.
It was when he was six years that Shresht began to dabble with Rubik’s cube. Just like other kids he too was curious and in course of time could solve the cube effortlessly.
He is now into Rubik’s mosaic wherein hundreds of Rubik Cubes are used to create portraits. Each such Rubik’s Mosaic or portrait takes three to four days to complete and needs nearly 400 Rubik cubes. This passion of Shresht has won him laurels and he also solves, 2X2, 4X4, Megamix and Pyramid shaped cubes.
He also has world records India for solving maximum cubes in an hour by a team. His dream is to create portraits at live events and participate in Speedcubing events. Let us hope his dreams come true.
