Belthangady, April 24, 2023: A young woman who was married just five months ago, has ended her life reportedly agonised over the illicit relationship of her husband with a relative.

The deceased is Kausalya (28), daughter of Devaki of Koppada Kodi in Indabettu village. Kausalya had married Sudhaker who was her neighbour after a love affair. However after marriage she came to know about the illicit relationship of her husband. When she questioned, she was reportedly reprimanded by her husband and in-laws. It is learnt Kausalya was distraught after her husband reportedly told her that he was ready to forgo her and not the other woman.

Kausalya had consumed pesticide on April 20. She had later informed this to her parents who rushed her to a private hospital in Ujire and then to a hospital in Mangaluru where she breathed her last on April 23, Sunday.
Belthangady police have registered a case.
